Boys Varsity Golf · Brumbeloe takes 3rd at Chris Kirk Classic

  Place Points
Sequoyah High School 9th 362

Sequoyah played in the Chris Kirk Classic at Eagle Watch in Woodstock on Wednesday, April 10. Fourteen schools were represented with most bringing 5 golfers to the event with the top 4 scores counting toward the team total. The Chiefs found misfortune early when freshman Garrett Armbrust had to withdraw after four holes after feeling not well enough to continue. Senior Thomas Brumbeloe, who was runner up in the tournament last year, got out the gate without his usual good game and was +4 after four holes. With number two man Armbrust out, all the scores from the rest of the team members would have to count this day. Brumbeloe was able to play the last 14 holes with only pars, birdies, and an eagle that was holed from 60 yards. His one over par finish was the highlight for the Chiefs and earned him a 3rd place finish. Senior Ryan Wakefield and juniors Joseph Trlica and Brock O’Connor also played for the Chiefs.
Sequoyah next play Kell on April 15 at Bradshaw Farm at 4:00.
