The Chiefs Boys Golf Team opened the season last Saturday at Chateau Elan in the West Hall Invitational. The Woodlands course was shorter than most courses the team plays, but it was also much tighter. The team put up a fifth place finish in a field of 18 high school teams.
Coach Heath tweeted:
Led by @tbrumbeloe13 and Hunter Clay, the boys tied for 5th out of 18 teams at the West Hall Inv. @ Chateau Elan GC this weekend. Solid start to the season.
As expected Thomas Brumbeloe and Hunter Clay led the Chiefs with scores of 77 ad 78; Joseph Trlica and Ryan Wakefield posted scores of 86 and 89 to round out the Chiefs’ score counting toward their total. All four of the boys said afterwards that they believe they should have put up a lower number. Brock O’Connor and Geoffrey Moon also participated in the 18 hole event.
The team is obviously better than last seasons team coming out of the gate. They take on River Ridge on Wednesday.
