Sequoyah continued to improve on the course Thursday at Brookfield Country Club in Roswell, but they faced Cobb County Champion Lassiter and came up short. The 162 team score was the best of the season, and it appears as if the golfers are starting to play up to their potential. Hunter Clay, Thomas Brumbeloe, and Ryan Wakefield shot their best scores of the season finishing 1-2-3. Joseph Trlica, Collier Pecht, and Patrick Ballance rounded out the scoring.
The Chiefs’ next event is in the always enjoyable Grizzly Classic hosted by County Champion Creekview at Woodmont this Saturday. Several team members tend to post some of their best scores at Woodmont. With spring break beginning after school Friday, more than half the team will be away, but the top four golfers of Clay, Brumbeloe, Wakefield, and Trlica will all be playing in the 18 hole tournament knowing their four scores will have to count.
The improvements made this week are hoped to carry into the weekend with a finish in the top third of the many schools participating.
