Wednesday, the Chiefs hosted a very good Allatoona team at Bradshaw Farm without their senior captain, Hunter Clay, who was battling a fever. The weather continued to be less than desired, and the team has yet to play on a warm dry course. The winds again made it very difficult to post good scores, but they blew equally for the Buccaneers as well as for the Chiefs.
Sequoyah came up on the short end of the scorecard for the first time in a dual match this season. However, several of the golfers put together some streaks with some great golf play. Collier Pecht started out with some solid play. Ryan Wakefield began with a rough start, but got on a roll of pars to finish the round. Joseph Trlica posted his best score this season, and Thomas Brumbeloe posted another low man round. Brock O’Connor finished in the Chiefs’ top four, and Geoffrey Moon also notched another varsity start.
Sequoyah returns to Bradshaw Farm Monday March 26 against rival Woodstock. They’re hoping for higher temperatures and lower scores.
