The Chiefs won their second match in a row as they defeated rival Cherokee Wednesday at Bradshaw Farm. Each team played without one of its top golfers as Harrison Smith was absent for the Warriors and Sequoyah’s Hunter Clay was hosting his Senior Project. Conditions were cold and windy, and the winds made it difficult to post good scores. The match was tied after the first two groups had turned in their scorecards, and all the golfers waited at the final hole for the final group to finish. The Chiefs escaped the close match with their second win over a county opponent. Thomas Brumbeloe was low man for the Chiefs with Joseph Trlica, Brock O’Connor, and Ryan Wakefield rounding out the top four. They will be joined Monday by Clay and Geoffrey Moon as they host Lassiter at Bradshaw Farm at 4:00.. Sequoyah improved its record to 14-4-1.
