The 2017 Sequoyah Boys Golf Team did not end the year with the State Tournament.  On May 31st the team held its Golf Banquet at J. Miller’s Smokehouse on Towne Lake Parkway in Woodstock.  The food and festivities matched the 2017 season; it was all great!

Three first year lettermen were recognized.

Medlin was recognized for his career low score in the state tournament.  He will attend Kennesaw State University in the fall.  Clay won the low average for the season, and Brumbeloe was noted for his low scores in the County, Area, and State Tournaments. Wakefield was recognized for his outstanding improvement from last year, and the newer golfers were challenged to follow his lead.  Coach Jon Heath took the team to the State Tournament in his second year at Sequoyah with the boys achieving all their team goals and most of their individual goals.  Now that the Chiefs have made some noise, the expectations for the 2018 team will be even higher.
